Hey guys, my name is Jeroen and today I am going to be the one writing a blog about the best places to stay in Madrid in summer. I am from the Netherlands and I often watch back to my time in Madrid. At the beginning I didn’t know anything about the Spanish capital, but once I got to know Madrid, it surprised me very positively. The unique neighbourhoods, street life, the great medieval squares, the great food and especially the authenticity of this city make Madrid a very nice destination.
During my time in Madrid, I stayed in Mi Casa Inn Salamanca, a residence that is located on the most famous and luxurious streets of Salamanca’s neighbourhood and that have everything to make you feel comfortable everyday. Every time I travel, I prefer to go to residences instead of boring hotels. because it is so much more than just a boring hotel. Although it’s summer, you always get to know students from all over the world and, besides that it’s cheaper than an apartment, you also meet new friends to live an experience to never forget.
Choosing a place to stay is hard, especially in Madrid, that’s why I wanna give you some tips about Madrid’s neighbourhoods where Mi Casa Inn has a place to stay for you to choose the one that is right for you. Whether you’re looking for a place near a university or close to a park, this blog post will help you find out in which area of Madrid you need to be.
Salamanca – Calle Lagasca
Who told you that living on the most famous and luxurious streets of Madrid and being a student is not combinable? This building is in the middle of the Salamanca’s neighbourhood and have everything for you to enjoy your summer and feel comfortable at the capital. Besides choosing the room you prefer, the building has also everything you need for your comfort, such as gym or a few common areas.
Gran Vía Innsuites – Calle Leganitos
Do you want to live on the Broadway of Madrid? Gran Vía is the most well-known shopping street and arterial road in the centre of Madrid. The street is one of the most popular shopping areas of Madrid, full of shops and business that brings live to the street every hour of the day. There are also a large number of theatres and cinemas. Gran Vía runs from Plaza de Cibeles to Plaza de España.
Plaza de España – Calle San Leonardo
Do you want to live in the centre in Madrid, but also 20 minutes away from Ciudad Universitaria? The residence of Plaza de España is the perfect place for those who want to see the Gran Vía when they wake up. This zone is famous for having everything so nearby. From Plaza de España you can easily walk to Plaza Mayor, Sol and Gran Vía, the areas most frequented by tourists.
Moncloa – Calle Brisa
Do you want to live nearby your university? Moncloa’s residence is the perfect choice for students of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Universidad San Pablo (CEU), Comillas (ICADE and ICAI), the European Institute of Design (IED), among others. Also, it’s 10 minutes away from the centre with public transport, and it has a rooftop with views perfect to relax and sunbath.
Atocha Río – Paseo Santa María de la Cabeza
Atocha Rio is located in an exceptional location, right in the centre of Madrid. Just a few metres from the residence hall you will have everything you need: one of the largest and newest shopping centres in the city, Madrid’s main train station (Atocha), the Rastro for walking and shopping on Sundays, La Latina for enjoying the most authentic Madrid, and also Madrid Rio’s extensive sports and leisure area.
And if culture is your thing, in El Matadero you will be able to enjoy festivals, exhibitions and concerts all year round.
Fuencarral – Calle Fuencarral
Are you a real fashion lover? Fuencarral is the one and only street of Madrid that has even more streets than a mall. It’s not just a street full of live, it also has the best young atmosphere every day of the week.
But the best thing is that the street is car-free, so the noise is not an inconvenience.
Flats an apartments
In addition to the residences, there are also studios and apartments distributed throughout the capital. As well as being pleasant and independent, they will offer you the option of going with several friends and sharing together a double, triple or quadruple apartment where each one will have a private room.
Why do you like Mi Casa Inn?
Mainly, I chose Mi Casa Inn for the prices. In the center the accommodation is expensive, the areas are very crowded and there is a lot of demand. However, Mi Casa Inn has rooms starting at 450€ per month in residences where you have everything you need: gym, leisure areas, common kitchens, lifts and, above all, many friends.
Mi Casa Inn is not a normal hotel, it is a place full of possibilities and experiences where you will meet people from all over the world in privileged places in the center of the capital.
